In 1994, The Louisiana Story was selected for preservation inside United States National Film Registry with the Library of Congress to "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." It is the story of an Cajun boy with his fantastic family, living on the bayous you might say of life we can barely imagine.

First, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was available. Second, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was preserved. The director Carl Theodor Dreyer (more) died believing that the last copy had been destroyed.
