!!! Professional Cinema Movie Cameras

Professional Cinema Movie Cameras! Watching movies "online at no cost" is a type of practice. Even for movies that have not even visited DVD yet there are sites in all places where people can post movies to view that people have secretly taken a youtube video camera in to a movie showing and recorded the whole movie for their computer. After that all it takes is a search of the internet to locate said movie. While the experience isn't same as purchasing it and seeing it within the theater people that just want to see a movie will find myriads of places online to view.

Even YouTube has places for fan videos that disguise themselves as places to view movies online. Piracy was previously getting bootleg copies of VHS tapes and DVDs the good news is movie piracy could possibly be even harder to control thanks to the internet.

Financial Fallout

Movie piracy cost U.S. movie studios over 1.3 billion dollars in 2005 mostly as a result of internet in a article posted to Torrent Freak. A 2004 survey conducted from the Motion Picture Associated of America claims that relating to 3,600 internet users surveyed 24 percent said that they had downloaded a movie online as outlined by an article in PC World. Surely the numbers should be even more right now. Further, 69% in the respondents felt that downloading a show online had not been a "major concern."

More recently, downloading movies and streaming them to internet is indeed prevalent in Spain that that variety of DVD stores has dropped 25% since 2003 along with the illegal pirating of movies is threatening to finish the DVD industry in Spain altogether. Business Insider quoted Michael Lynton of Sony as saying "Spain is around the brink of no more being a viable market for us." This was in late March of 2010.

The overuse injury in Spain could be a Catch-22. If DVDs are no more sold in Spain then the industry for pirated copies of movies may more lucrative and pirates may get more creative and much more ardent to the product. Just like making drugs illegal the demand won't go away so prices will spike as well as an entire blackmarket may develop and things may get a lot more out of control.

Perhaps another reason for piracy aside from not paying for expensive movie tickets is spoofed within this piece on Business Insider. Like movies inside theater, DVDs are in possession of previews, trailers, and advertising with them. When you can watch a pirated copy with no ads that just simply extends to the movie without ten mins worth of advertising, maybe the feeling of apathy in your consumerist contemporary society is reaching a breaking point.

Anti-Piracy Measures

France and Britain are at the forefront in anti-piracy measures. In a New York Times article in March of 2010, Parliament is for the verge of considering a law that might allow authorities to fully cut off online to people that download movies illegally from the web. France has passed a law consequently but has yet to implement it. Civil liberties groups are watching regulations closely and they are wary that the measure may go too far.

While these laws are designed to protect a distinct segment industry from losing profits, again we need to point to illegal drugs just as one mirror to movie piracy. The problem with drugs aren't the small time dealers who are trying to make money when they do not know any other way though the large suppliers and drug cartels who let them have the drugs within the first place. Movie downloaders are the same way. The problem shouldn't be the people who watch movies for free for free but people who pirate the movies and put them on the internet in the first place. Cut off the head and also the body dies.

In late March of 2010, The Hollywood Reporter posted a special article stating how the US Copyright Group has sued more than 20,000 torrent users for illegal piracy of movies. Another lawsuit is forthcoming that targets greater than 30,000 users for five particular movie titles. It appears the film companies are not taking this lightly.

New Formats

Blu-Ray discs and the new 3-D format might help to tackle the piracy condition in their own way. If a film is being touted as only able to be seen in 3-D it would be more difficult to get a copy of it straight beyond a camera version taken in the movie theater. The DVD could be the only way to look at it.

Another way to combat piracy would be to make online services including Netflix cheaper. What you would lose in price may be made up for in volume. Perhaps making movie ticket prices somewhat cheaper would help too. There are everything the film industry can do in order to combat piracy containing nothing to do with filing a case.

For these measures being delivered to sue those that break the law there are always sites like YouTube that always can't match illegal downloads. Episodes of shows, movies, plus much more can be found on sites like YouTube, Veoh, and LiveVideo all free of charge. Until those websites may be more vigilant about getting rid of copyrighted content then people will continue to watch pirated videos.

On the entire, movie piracy is bad for your film industry since they lose money. The problem then becomes that when they can stem the piracy problem will movie ticket prices actually drop? Will online viewing services including NetFlix lower their prices when the movie industry is recouping doing this money? There has got to be a give-and-take attitude about this problem. There has got a chance to be some incentive for users to require to pay for a show. Spending money is usually good for your economy even if it means purchasing enjoying a show.

Another factor to consider could be the current state of the economy. People are still hurting financially and will want to get things at no cost or little cost so long as possible. When that carrot goes away then the movie industry must adjust to lure those customers time for seeing movies otherwise the movie piracy problem will just have more creative instead of go away.
